A beginning exploration of definitions and distinctions of 'pedagogical content knowledge' (PCK). The idea of PCK seems to be a clever way of imagining what the specialist knowledge of teaching might involve. Refinements of Shulman's original notion are in the literature, but the authors have found that some of these to be less than helpful.
