This resource is an introduction to the structure of DNA and includes the subjects of; Components of DNA, Purine Bases, Pyrimidine Bases, Deoxyribose Sugar, Nucleosides, Nucleotides, Base Pairs, DNA Backbone, DNA Double Helix, DNA Helix Axis. The primer includes molecular representations of the discussed structures and delineates 5’-posphate and 3’-hydroxyl directionality of the DNA polymer.
