G.M. Novak, E.T. Patterson 1998 Paper presented at IASTED International Conference on Computers and Advanced Technology in Education , May 27 -30, 1998 Cancun, Mexico

This paper presents information on Just-in-Time Teaching (JiTT) challenges, classrooms, web pages and parts, and assessment. JiTT incorporates interactive lectures and group exercises. Students take an active role in lecture planning and implementation by solving web-based problems and emailing the responses to the instructor just in time for the instructor to shape that day's lecture based on student needs. Students also practice problem-solving and communication skills through in-class group exercises. This paper was presented at the IASTED International Conference on Computers and Advanced Technology in Education, May 27 -30, 1998 in Cancun, Mexico.
