"What is Physics Good For?" is a series of essays that are posted on a course webpage. Research questions related to the essays are also posted online. This essay addresses motivation and science literacy by fostering inquisitiveness and understanding of various topics in physics, while simultaneously encouraging students to practice writing and use the Web as a resource. This paper was presented at the 1999 IASTED International Conference on Computers and Advanced Technology in Education.
