Guidebook of the Central Montana Alkalic Province: Geology, Ore Deposits and Origin
David W. Baker, Richard B. Berg, editors 1991 Montana Bureau of Mines and Geology Special Publication 100

This volume was prepared for the 16th Annual Field Conference of the Tobacco Root Geological Society and includes field trips to the Little Belt, Moccasin, Judith, Little Rocky and Bearpaw Mountains. It describes the economic geology of major gold deposits (Paleocene age) and major lead-zinc-silver, molybdenum and sapphire deposits (Eocene age). Several papers in this volume discuss plate tectonic and geochemical models for the formation of rocks from this province.
