This module helps students learn to identify terrain features on topographic maps. QuickTime movies and interactive animations that illustrate features in three dimensions are compared to static topographic maps to help users recognize the same features in two dimensions. Viewers can manipulate animations of hills, valleys, and cliffs to see the terrain from various angles. The module also provides instruction on how to read contour lines. Questions and example answers help students practice and measure their progress.
