Can Immigrant Professionals Help Reduce Teacher Shortages in the U.S.?
This report produced by the World Education Services explores the possibility of expanding options for foreign educated immigrants and refugees to become teachers in the U.S. The report suggests that creating new alternative certification routes for foreign educated immigrants could especially help address areas with teacher shortages, such as STEM and bilingual teachers. Existing alternative routes to certification in several states, including Washington, are described.
