As a soil science graduate, you might find employment (depending on your level of education and experience) at universities and other educational institutions; with local, state, or federal government agencies; or in businesses, with environmental or agricultural consultant firms, or with agricultural companies. Employment opportunities are available across the globe.
The Future
The demand for soil scientists is expected to increase. According to one occupational report, the projection for 2018 to 2028 is 7-10% employment growth for soil and plant scientists. As with many professions, the higher the degree, the more opportunities are available, generally with greater options, responsibilities, and salaries.
