This page acts as both a location for ongoing reporting about your project as well as a space where you can draft text that will appear in a public description of your activity at the completion of the project. Sections with blue titles will become part of this public description when your grant is complete. Text in these sections should be written for an audience of faculty outside Carleton in mind.

Description of Summer Science Fellows program (Acrobat (PDF) 232kB Jun21 13)

Goals

Students who participate in the Science Fellows program will develop future research and career goals, understand course material better through application, become more comfortable with lab work, and experience a greater sense of connection with students having similar research experiences. The colloquium prior to the initial summer will prepare students to understand the research process and the expectations of being a member of a research group. The colloquium after the summer will prepare students to communicate the results of their research and to leverage their summer research experience to meet future research and career goals.
