Attending the EER 2016 GeoNeeds Workshop - Logistics

Welcome Dinner

Participants should arrive in Madison, WI by 5pm on Sunday, July 17th. Dinner will be held at Porta Bella Restaurant, 425 N Frances St. Madison WI 53715. Registration

Participants will receive full registration for all 5 days of the Earth Educators' Rendezvous (Monday, July 18 - Friday, July 22). The GeoNeeds project team will issue each participant a registration code. Participants receiving funding are expected to attend all 5 days of the EER.

Participants should register for the GeoNeeds: Broadening Participation in the Geoscience Workforce workshop for the mornings of Thursday, July 21 and Friday, July 22. This workshop is included in the cost of registration. You may also register for any of the available Monday, July 18 to Wednesday, July 20 morning workshops (included in the cost of registration).

For additional information and to register for the meeting go to the 2016 EER Registration webpage. - please do not register for the meeting until you have received a code from us. We cannot reimburse people who have already registered for the EER 2016.

Lodging

The project will provide lodging in single occupancy dormitory rooms ($66.86/night) at the Ogg Residence Hall for Sunday, July 17 through (but not including) Friday, July 22. This lodging includes a hot breakfast each day. More information about the accommodations can be found at the 2016 EER Travel & Lodging webpage. Your lodging has been reserved by the project team. Stipend

In order to cover travel (air, rail, or car) and miscellaneous meal or other expenses, the project is offering a $850 stipend to participants. Stipends will be distributed within two months of the conclusion of the 2016 EER.

Expectations: By accepting our invitation for funding, participants must agree to the following BEFORE receiving the $850 stipend:

  • Attend a welcome dinner on Sunday, July 17th with the participants and project team
  • Attend and participate in all 5 days of the 2016 EER
  • Attend a 2-day morning workshop on Thursday (7/21) and Friday (7/22)
  • Develop and submit an action plan during the workshop for applying what you have learned at the EER to your institution

At the Friday workshop, the project team will provide you with copies of two documents needed to process your stipend. They are:
