Twitter in Google Earth  

Here are the step-by-step instructions (with screen shots) to playing around with twitter in google earth.

Again, this is in not a hard science research tool, but a great way to introduce GPS and mapping GPS coordinates to middle school or lower high school students.

Another Great source, just to show the students is

This site will show real-time tweets all over a google map, all over the world. The site boasts you can "see what's happening in the world 1 second ago"
