The activities supplied in this chapter can be extended using the resources of the Learning With Data CD-ROM. The CD contains numerous animated presentations that cover the interior of the Earth, plate tectonics and volcanoes. Homework assignments and other explorations are also included. The CD's Solid Earth Data browser allows the learner to explore elevation, earthquake, volcano, and other types of Earth data at arbitrary locations. Data plots can be captured, combined, and annotated in a built-in image editor. So, in-depth investigations that explore and contrast various kinds of plate boundaries can be conducted.
