Workshop Posting

highlighted_triptych_thumb

Either during the workshop or within two days of it ending, please take a screen shot showing you have adjusted the threshold values on the landsat_aral_triptych.jpg image. The image should be grayscale, showing the northeastern portion of the Aral Sea highlighted in red. The land should be gray, while the water should be red.

Be sure to measure the area of the water in each of the three images and write down these measurements.

Next, create a new thread and post a response to the following questions:

  1. What does your image show? Please briefly describe it.
  2. What measurements did you get for each of the three areas highlighted in red?
  3. In what ways can you imagine incorporating ImageJ techniques and/or satellite data into your teaching?
  4. What lingering questions (if any) do you have from today's workshop?

Last, attach the screenshot of the thresholded image to your posting.
