Background Information

I have been teaching economics full time at Northern Virginia Community College since 1999. I earned my doctorate in economics in 2003 from George Mason University with research focus on measuring and improving organizational productivity.

Outside the college, I work as an educational consultant to McGraw Hill Education, Kauffman Foundation, and Cengage Learning and help them develop innovative curriculum materials in economics. I also work as a corporate (training) consultant for companies such as JP Morgan Chase, Management Concepts, Western Union and AFEX.

Related Pedagogical Projects

Since last year, I have been supporting a NSF grant on promoting best practices in teaching economics in community colleges. Additionally, I have been developing teaching apps (as part of a start up technology company) to help instructors and students in teaching and learning economics in and out of their classrooms.
