Changes to Special Characters
published Jul 11, 2008 1:25pmWe've made some changes in how the system handles special characters.
This may result in some pages that used to display 'correctly' now
displaying weird characters (most likely black diamonds with question
marks) in place of the previous existing character. Long term this
change will set us up to better handle foreign languages (though we're
not there yet).
If you run into one of these situations just put in the correct character again and things should work correctly. Note that this does not effect the use of [entity] tags (which has been the official method for inserting special characters)--only situations where special characters have been entered directly (e.g. by copying and pasting them out of other programs).
