SERC Content Management System

The SERC Content Management System (CMS) is a toolset used by SERC and its partners to create websites that facilitate improvements in educational practice. It has much in common with a number of other web-based CMS's focused on website creation (Plone, Drupal, RedDot, etc..). In contrast to these 'general-purpose' tools the SERC CMS is particularly focused on the functionality needed to support educational change. It is unique in its integration with digital libraries tools and its support for particular models of information collection and dissemination. The CMS (as it existed in December 2004) is described, with particular emphasis on its relation to digital libraries, in Building Educational Portals atop Digital Libraries published in D-Lib.
