Vignettes are stand-alone, illustrated electronic case studies that teach about geomorphology, surface processes, and/or Quaternary history. Vignettes can be used alone or in combination with the "Key Concepts in Geomorphology", the first in a new generation of textbooks. Vignettes allow faculty to customize the learning resources they offer students to enrich and personalize student learning experiences.

Flow in a microtidal channel during within-bank and over-bank tides: Yalimbah Creek, South Eastern Australia.
Gareth Davies
The study of tidal hydrodynamics plays an important role in geomorphic studies of tidal channels. While the hydrodynamic properties of the landform are largely controlled by its morphology, these flows also drive ...

Quantification of sediment storage and flux in an alpine basin (Reintal, Bavarian Alps, Germany)
Joachim Goetz; Martin Geilhausen
This vignette deals with the quantification of sediment storage and sediment input and exemplifies how sediment is transferred through an alpine catchment system (Reintal, Bavarian Alps). The Reintal valley is ...
