Comprehension of Graphics
W. Schnotz, R. W. Kulhavy 1994 North Holland: Elsevier.

This book discusses graphic displays such as charts, graphs, diagrams, and maps and their role in today’s education system. In other fields, such as scientific, technical, and administrative, there is a similar need to present large amounts of facts, laws, and principles. Computer-based learning environments are an important vector for this progression; yet little research as been done into the comprehension of graphics. This book summarizes the existing research, and proposes paths for future inquiry.
