An online library of high resolution, full color scans of over 200 "exotic" igneous, metamorphic and metasomatic rocks in thin section, displayed under both natural (unpolarized) light and under crossed polarizers. The scan library is indexed and fully searchable by locality, minerals, geologic environment, and atypical element enrichments. Once or twice per year roughly 40 new samples are added, and the accompanying figure captions are being continuously expanded. I'm now also in the process of adding tabulated mineral composition data to samples which have been in the microprobe.
