Language use reflects scientific methodology: A corpus-based study of peer-reviewed journal articles
S. Argamon 2008 Scientometrics v. 75, no. 2, p. 203-238

The authors present a detailed linguistic analysis of scientific publications supporting that the differences in methodologies between experimental and historical sciences will be reflected in the corresponding literature. Journal articles from the historical sciences generally have more informational items and multiple story lines than experimental papers. This paper covers the same material, in much greater depth, as Dodick et al. (2009).
