National Institutes of Health: Office of Science Policy


The Office of Science Education (OSE) coordinates science education activities at the NIH and develops and sponsors science education projects in house. These programs serve elementary, secondary, and college students and teachers and the public.

The Office of Science Policy (OSP) advises and supports the Director of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) on science policy issues affecting the medical research community, the NIH, and the public. The OSP participates in the development of new research policy and program initiatives; monitors and coordinates NIH activities, including a comprehensive science education program for teachers, and the required reporting on certain provisions of the National Institutes of Health Reform Act of 2006.
