Using Technology to Tame the Large Oceanography Class
W.A. Prothero 1995 Journal of Geoscience Education v. 43, p. 497.
Comprehensive software tools have been created to support a large general-education oceanography course. The goal is to provide students with access to selected earth science databases and guide them in the process of 'discovering' earth processes. These explorations are linked to group and class discussions and writing assignments. In addition, students enter weekly homework problems into a computer and receive a score immediately.
