The Geographic Information Systems Technology Implementation Project (GIS-TECH) at Del Mar College provides training materials and modules covering GIS technology for both educators and GIS professionals. For first-response professionals, there are modules on emergency management and building and modeling a public safety standard of cover with GIS. A set of GIS mini-projects for educators provides students with an introduction to the use of GIS and ArcGIS Desktop software. For users and administrators of databases, there is a unit on the use of ArcSDE technology to access multiuser geographic databases stored in relational database management systems. There is also a unit introducing users to ArcIMS (Internet Mapping Service). The site includes links to news articles, announcements, and information about GIS certification training.
