UNAVCO

This is the education and outreach page for UNAVCO, a consortium engaged in research in high-precision techniques for the measurement and understanding of crustal deformation. Resources are available on a variety of topics, including information, activities, and tutorials on Global Positioning Systems (GPS); workshops on using GPS to study crustal deformation and on teaching about plate tectonics; and short courses, tools, and information for researchers. The Jules Verne Voyager Map Tools, intended for students and teachers, are interactive tools that incorporate maps, satellite images, and geophysical data on a variety of base maps including topography, geoid, sea-floor age, and strain rate. The site also features links to news articles, career information, and internship information for students.
