Elizabeth Katt-Reinders, Earthwatch Radio Series

Slices of ancient ice show that climate changes can be abrupt. This radio broadcast explains how scientists studying ice cores in Greenland have found that sudden transitions in climate have punctuated gradual warming or cooling periods of the past: sudden, irreversible climate change forced ecosystems and people to adapt quickly. The clip is 2 minutes in length.
