This portal features an extensive selection of links to materials for K-12 teachers and students. The teacher's section contains lesson plans, activities and a collection of interactive, web-based educational modules that address topics such as fossils, the history of life, biological evolution, the science of paleontology and the scientific process. There is also a set of articles and classroom activities using paleontology to teach major concepts in science, and a curriculum guide containing standards-based lessons for the San Francisco Unified School District. There are also professional development materials (online courses) and links to other recommended sites. The student's section features a selection of links to exhibits and online investigations on such topics as the fossil record, evolution, geologic time, and others.
