Wolfgang Berger, Scripps Institution of Oceanography, University of California, San Diego, University of California, San Diego

This chapter from an online course discusses two topics, water and heat storage; and the properties of clouds. Older students can read about water's ability to store and release heat, and how phase changes of water are involved in all aspects of climate and weather. The section on clouds discusses their properties, the concept of aerosols, and cloud types. It also mentions the role clouds might play in global warming.
