NASA Langley Research Center (LARC)

The MY NASA DATA (Mentoring and inquirY using NASA Data on Atmospheric and earth science for Teachers and Amateurs) Web site provides information on the project as well as classroom materials, lesson plans, computer tools and resources to support educational activities. The site organizes selected NASA Langley Atmospheric Science Data Center (ASDC) holdings into microsets that can be easily accessed and explored by K-16 educators and students. The data sets, which center on atmospheric science, are derived from the archive of remotely sensed data retrieved from the myriad of NASA Earth Obsering System satellites. Some of the data sets are related to Earth's radiation budget, clouds, aerosols and tropospheric chemistry. Data information pages and a science glossary are also accessible. Teacher workshops will be held each summer for five years to help teachers learn about incorporating NASA microsets in their curriculum.
