This site is part of an effort to improve the long-term sustainability of resources and environments of large marine ecosystems and linked watersheds. For each large marine ecosystem of the world, a general description and information on the productivity, fish and fisheries, pollution and ecosystem health, socioeconomics, and governance is provided. The site also contains maps of the world, GIS data, tables of contents for related publications, and news and information about events.
