This web page provides access to a constantly growing collection of mineral descriptions, images, and specimens. The user can search by mineral name, class, groupings - gemstones, birthstones, etc. - or full text. A photo of the mineral is then displayed, along with its name, chemistry, class, group, uses, and physical characteristics - color, luster, transparency, crystal system, crystal habits, cleavage, fracture, hardness, specific gravity, and streak. The user can also access pictures of specimens of the mineral, and find links to associated minerals.
