This interactive Flash animation of a dune triangle allows users to click on a dune type and see a related image with accompanying descriptive text. The three parameters of the dune type triangle are sand, wind, and vegetation. The demonstrated dune types are longitudal, crescent (barchan), transverse, star, and parabolic. This visualization is from Chapter 19 (The Work of Waves and Wind) of the animations section of the Instructor Companion Site for the Wiley Higher Education textbook (ISBN 0-471-23800-7) Physical Geography: Science and Systems of the Human Environment, Second Edition by Alan Strahler.
