The Tectosilicate Subclass

Amethyst Galleries, Inc

This website provides information about tectosilicates, the silicate subclass that is often called the framework silicates because the mineral structures are composed of interconnected tetrahedrons. The site consists of a list of tectosilicate minerals, including quartz and feldspar, that links to a description, picture, physical characterization, and chemical formula for each mineral. Also included are common uses of each mineral, class, subclass, and group.
