This site provides the curriculum vitae and links to selected publications and software by Dr. Yael Kali. Her work centers on the cognitive aspects of learning earth sciences, and the design and development of computer-based tools and curricula that deal with these aspects. Her research has involved the study of students' spatial perceptions of three-dimensional geological structures, and the subsequent development of software to assist students in developing the spatial skills needed for such perception. She has also studied systems thinking in the context of the rock-cycle and developed a curriculum and software to assist students in the perception of the Earth's crust as a cyclic system.
