Usability 101

Jakob Nielsen,

This short overview provides tips and guidelines for website interface usability. Usability is a quality attribute that assesses how easy user interfaces on websites are to use. This is defined by the concepts of learnability, efficiency, memorability, errors, satisfaction, and utility. The word "usability" also refers to methods for improving ease-of-use during the design process. This site also features links to design guidelines and techniques, evaluation tools, and usability workshops.
