University of Victoria, Counselling Services, Learning Skills Program

This website is an adaptation of Bloom's taxonomy of learning. Benjamin Bloom created this taxonomy in 1956 for categorizing the levels of comprehension that commonly occur in educational settings. This website features a table which clearly presents each category with definitions and cues/examples of behavior that expresses mastery of that level. The categories are hierarchical from least to most complex and include knowledge, comprehension, application, analysis, synthesis, and evaluation.
