The National Snow and Ice Data Center (NSIDC)

The National Snow and Ice Data Center (NSIDC) archives and distributes snow and sea ice products derived from the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on the NASA Earth Observing System (EOS) Terra satellite. MODIS data may help scientists understand the Earth as a system, facilitating their ability to predict global climate changes and to differentiate between the impact of human activities and natural activities on the environment. This site contains information on MODIS data, MODIS data collected by NSIDC and images from MODIS sea and ice products.
