This site contains 5 links of educational interest. An animation describes very basically how the earth was formed and how the world's continents moved through time. An interactive link of the same pictures lets you click on a time period to arrange the continents as they were at that given time. There is also basic information about what types of fossils come from that period as well as the location on the British Isles of rocks of that age. The "Stones at Home" link brings up six experiments for the novice geologist to perform at home. The "Walks with Rocks" link brings you to a page containing 10 geological walks in the British Isles, each with links to rocks seen along the route of the walk. "Rock Primer" is a very basic introduction to sedimentary, igneous, and metamorphic rocks. This site contains very basic information about geology. It is most suited for novices (in Britain) interested in picking up a new hobby or for geologists visiting the country looking for a good reason to take a walk.
