This article provides a long list of potential medical emergencies that can occur when in the field. In addition, it gives advice for faculty who take students on field trips as to good ways of preparing for and responding to emergencies that occur. The article includes recommendations for first aid kits to be carried by individuals as well as a more extensive one that would travel with the whole group.
