This article discusses the imbalances seen in graduate students’ preparation for discussing their teaching in academic job interviews. By sharing insights from workshops and offering practical advice, the authors hope to help graduate students focus on their teaching skills as well as their research. In the process, the authors hope to encourage graduate students and their faculty advisers to make teaching a more audible part of departmental conversations.
