This website is the homepage for Benchmarks for Science Literacy, an AAAS publication that specifies how students should progress toward science literacy. This document also recommends what students should know and be able to do by the time they reach certain grade levels. Benchmarks for Science Literacy is a companion report to the publication Science for All Americans. Together, the two publications can help guide reform in science, mathematics, and technology education. This publication is available in print or on-line in English and Spanish.
