The paper presents three tools for evaluating the affective domain in students. These are the attitude checklist, the attitude questionnaire, and the projective indicator. The attitude checklist is a list of questions pertaining to affective outcomes. The questions are multiple choice with Likert scale ratings. The attitude questionnaire has open-ended questions, which are effective in discovering problem areas in a course. The projective indicator technique involves compiling the adjectives from a question such as “if I were to pick one adjective to describe my overall feeling about my lab experience it would be…” and then scaling the adjectives from +5 to -5 according to whether the adjective is positive or negative. Lastly the author gives some brief examples of how to use each type of evaluation.
