This article features a description of the diversity of students found on two-year college campuses, and of the challenges and pleasures of teaching them. The stimulating challenge of teaching at two-year institutions, the author argues, is facilitating students from diverse backgrounds, ages and skill levels. It's key to really know your students, and not teach to imaginary "typical" community college students.
