This paper is a call for Earth science specialists in the United Kingdom to become science teachers. It outlines the benefits of teaching and the need for classroom and laboratory science educators with a strong base in Earth science. In the UK, scientists need to get a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in order to teach. Science PGCE courses recruit throughout the year to due the shortage in students in their science teaching courses. The article includes a leaflet on how to turn your geology degree into a career in teaching.
