In this PhD thesis, Alex Burton examines the taphonomy of several sections of the lower Cretaceous Wealden beds of southern England for their preservational relationships. The dissertation divides the Wealden formation into the three ancient environments in which bones were deposited -rivers, floodplains and lagoons.
