This article from the Journal of Geophysical Research uses Mars Orbiter Laser Altimeter data to analyze valley network morphology in order to provide insight into the conditions of their formation. The extensive valley networks are described in detail. The authors conclude that valley network morphometry is due to channel formation mechanisms.
