Warm Up Time

Paul Humke, John Hennessy, The Stanford Center for Innovations in Learning

This Tomorrow's Professor blog post points out that the warm-up time necessary to return to a problem increases exponentially with the time that has lapsed since it was last worked on. To combat this problem, it is important to have a problem to work on whenever a spare minute is available. This prevents wasting time warming up when larger blocks of time for research open up.
