Incorporating GPS Technology with a Campus Walking Tour
Daniel J. Weiss, James C. Walters 2004 Journal of Geoscience Education v52 no1 p 186-190

This independent assignment has groups of students take a questionnaire and a GPS unit on a geologic walking tour of the campus. Some of the questions have students learn to use the GPS by obtaining the coordinates of campus landmarks; others have students identify building stones used at those landmarks.
