Quantifying urban land use and runoff changes through service-learning hydrology projects

Students used maps and aerial photographs to estimate changes in the percentage of green space and impermeable surfaces around the University of Vermont - Burlington Campus between 1869 and 1999. They used calculations to make estimates of runoff, a matter of considerable importance to the community.
