Guidebook for the Fieldtrips: Mesozoic and Cenozoic Paleontology in the Western Plains and Rocky Mountains
Christopher Hill, editor 2001 Museum of the Rockies Occasional Paper No. 3

The papers in this volume serve as a record of the field trips for the 61st Annual Meeting of the Society of Vertebrate Paleontology, held during October 2001 at Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana. The contributions provide a glimpse of some of the state-of-the-science research in Mesozoic and Cenozoic vertebrate paleontology that is being conducted in the Rocky Mountains and western Plains region. The first three papers focus on intriguing aspects of the Mesozoic record associated with dinosaur fossils from northern Wyoming, Montana, and southern Alberta. The fourth contribution consists of a collection of papers that focus primarily on the record of Tertiary mammals from southwestern Montana.
