This site is intended to provide a learning environment for college level students interested in learning about the Earth and how the Earth'system works. It is designed to support three courses offered by the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at Columbia University, but its resources could be used in a variety of ways. The site contains a variety of large data sets designed to help students learn about the Earth'system through data exploration. The data sets are grouped by topics and include atmospheric, oceanographic, paleoclimatic and geologic data. The courses also have activities, labs, course schedules, and exam questions that could be used to create learning materials.
